TERRORVISION THE ACADEMY MANCHESTER

WITH NEW music out, We Are Not Robots, a 12 song studio album the first in about a decade, naturally, Terrorvision would be hitting the road to promote and publicise, with this tour being some of their biggest shows in years. Manchester crowds are normally raucous with Discotheque Wreak, followed quickly by new tune The Night That Lemmy Died and floor-filler Alice, soon shifted the Bradford gang into top gear.

They’ve been a unit for well over thirty years yet Terrorvison seem to defy the aging process as all looked youthful, energised and seemed relatively happy being out on the road. Frontman Tony Wright hardly draws breath as he constantly jumps around through twenty two songs as though an aerobic class was in session.

Whilst new songs must be played, Baby Blue being one of five aired tonight, fan favourites including  Josephine, My House, and D’ya Wanna Go Faster will always be present, yet Terrorvision do insert a selection of the not so obvious which pleases many.

Talented tattooed work-horse Mark Yates as always was faultless on guitar, and let’s not forgets, Terrorvision aren’t a twin guitar band, so to say he’s got his work cut out is an understatement. Various peddles need kicking on cue to glue tunes together and coupled with bassist Leigh Marklew, drummer Chris Bussey and touring keyboards chap Milton Evans, the Bradford machine is kept running from start to finish.

Production, lighting, and the nice new back-drop earned top marks with the band stylishly dressed in blue. Many mutterings were heard on leaving about how amazing this band are, and indeed support act Bar Stool Preaches, a fact many of us know. We must all do our duty and tell the world that Terrovision are not robots, they’re actually musical gods.
